He uses a mix of hand-on learning and humor to teach people of all ages about toxic plants and keeping pets safe. He will speak on “Pet-Friendly Gardens” and what plants are toxic to animals. \nPresented by the Discovery Garden Club. Light refreshments served.

DESCRIPTION:Humans have been fascinated by salt since ancient times. The Greeks regarded it as a divine substance\, and throughout history\, it has been linked to fertility\, longevity\, loyalty\, and protection. Salt is essential for cell function and is found in almost every part of the human body. To survive and thrive\, civilizations have always sought sources of salt. Its crucial role in food preservation allowed people to survive harsh winters\, sustain armies\, and enabled global exploration. Historically\, sources of salt have spurred the growth of nearby settlements\, and this was also true in Missouri. Numerous saline springs north of the Missouri River attracted settlers moving westward from St. Charles on the Boone’s Lick Trail. \n  \nJoin Lydia Peifer\, the museum’s Education and Outreach Interpreter\, as she traces the impact of salt on history\, both globally and in Missouri. We will explore salt production\, the various types of salt and their uses\, and how salt has influenced food and language.

DESCRIPTION:Good afternoon\, \n  \nOn March 21\, 2026\, 10 am – 12 pm at Douglass High School\, the members of the Central MO Chapter of The Links\, Incorporated are hosting their second annual Family Wellness Fair. \nEssentially\, our wellness fair will feature at least 20 vendors that offer opportunities for financial\, mental\, physical\, legal\, and economic wellness.  The first 50 families attending will receive a $25 gift card for a local grocery store and we will raffle off 2 $100 gift cards . . . one at 11:30 am and another at 12:30 pm.  Our hope is to share information and resources with families that need it most.

DESCRIPTION:Annual Hallsville FFA Scholarship Dinner\, hosted by the Friends of the Hallsville FFA. Proceeds from the event will support Hallsville High School students interested in pursuing an agriculture-related degree or program at a college or technical school. We will be serving ribeye sandwiches with a selection of sides and desserts. Raffles\, as well as live and silent auctions\, will follow dinner. Guests are welcome to bring carry-in beverage coolers for a $10 fee. Ticket information: $20 for adults\, $10 for ages 6–10\, and children 5 and under eat free.
