DESCRIPTION:Backyard concerts are back for 2022. Jefferson Landing State Historic Site is excited to invite you to another season of live music on the Lohman Lawn. This year\, we’re introducing two “new to the Lohman” artists to the series and bringing back an old favorite. These are family-friendly\, BYOC (bring your own chair) events\, so bring your blankets\, lawn chairs and picnic suppers for a summer of music that captures Missouri’s music traditions past and present. \nThe summer lineup includes:\nJune 18:  Jerry Rabushka and Isaac Cherry – This duo brings ragtime to the Lohman stage\, highlighting Missouri composers including Scott Joplin\, James Scott\, Irene Giblin and more. \nJuly 16: Ironweed Bluegrass Band – This group brings audiences bluegrass and vintage country with tunes about “trains\, moonshine\, dirt\, heartache” and more. \nAug. 27: Downstream – This acoustic trio plays a blend of Americana\, folk\, blues and original music.

DESCRIPTION:On August 25th at 7PM you are invited to Rock Bridge Church where we will view a short film “An Outrage” as an educational event.  We will have a panel discussion about lynching. \nThe Community Remembrance Project of Boone County Missouri (CRP-BC-MO) invites you to participate in our efforts to address past and present racism in our community\, starting with our community’s history of racial terror lynching. We are focusing specifically on the lynchings of James Scott and George Bush. \nOur Boone County group is affiliated with the CRP of Missouri\, a group established by Missourians in partnership with the Equal Justice Initiative (EJI) to raise public awareness\, facilitate education and work toward reconciliation in coordination with communities throughout the state regarding Missouri’s history of racial injustice. \nAN OUTRAGE is directed\, edited\, and produced by Hannah Ayers and Lance Warren\, the Emmy-nominated co-directors of Field Studio. They make films at the intersection of history and social justice.
