Landing After Hours: “Integration and Lincoln University”

November 6 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

Lincoln University is Missouri’s oldest Historically Black College or University (HBCU). In the late 19th and early 20th centuries it was one of the few options for Black Missourians to pursue higher education. But, was it always just for Black students? Join the museum’s own Stephana Landwehr, semi-retired educator and 1966 graduate of Lincoln University, as she explores the original documents of the university’s integration leaders as they prepared to integrate.

The Missouri State Museum’s “Landing After Hours” program, is held the first Wednesday of each month at the Jefferson Landing State Historic Site,100 Jefferson Street. Doors open at 6:30 and the program starts at 7 p.m. Convenient parking is available in the lot next to the Lohman Building.
