LANDING AFTER HOURS: FROM MISSOURI TO WEST POINT: NATIVE SONS OF UPPER LOUISIANA

April 3 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

Tells the story of the young men from Missouri who were among the earliest graduates of West Point, following the Louisiana Purchase.  James (Jim) Baker dedicated over 40 years to the preservation and interpretation of the unique French buildings and historic sites in Ste. Genevieve, Missouri.  Baker had cameo appearances in the movie “Under These Same Stars” and the History Channel’s program on “How the States Got their Shapes.”

Since his retirement in 2011, Baker has devoted his time to the continued interpretation of French Missouri history, as well as the “hands-on” restoration of his residence, the 1807 “Dorlac” House in Ste. Genevieve.
