LANDING AFTER HOURS: BONNIE AND CLYDE: THIRTEEN DAYS IN JOPLIN, MISSOURI

August 7 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

For 12 days in April 1933, Clyde, Buck and Blanche Barrow, Bonnie Parker and W.D. Jones hid out in a two-story garage apartment in Joplin, Missouri. On April 13, their tranquil hideout became the scene of a deadly shootout. Though the Borrow gang escaped, discoveries in the apartment eventually helped lead to the gang’s demise. Brad Belk, a historian from Joplin, will tell the tale of Bonnie and Clyde’s time in Joplin and their eventual downfall.

The Missouri State Museum’s Landing After Hours program is held the first Wednesday of each month at Jefferson Landing State Historic Site’s Lohman Building, located at 100 Jefferson St. Doors to the Lohman Building open at 6:30 p.m., and the program begins at 7 p.m. Convenient parking is available in the lot next to the Lohman Building.

In addition to being held in person, this program will be livestreamed on the Missouri State Museum’s Facebook page.
