International Overdose Awareness Event

We will have speakers share with us their personal stories as to how overdose has affected their lives. There is a educational piece on the Good Samaritan Law, as well as a Narcan discussion and training. There will be a table for Narcan distribution with no questions, no judgments, and no cost. We will be presented with a Proclamation acknowledging August 31st as International Overdose Awareness Day from Mayor Dawson and the Pettis County Commissioners. Chaplain Chris will lead us in prayer recognizing those who go unseen, remembering those we have lost to overdose, the survivors, and those that still struggle with substance use prior to our candle light vigil and walk. We have a memory board where individuals are welcome to add the name and a photo of their loved one.
Overdose affects everyone from grieving families to spontaneous first responders. It is time for us to act. It is time for us to join together.
