CMFCAA Traveling Trunk Ribbon Cutting

We would love for the public to join us from 11 a.m.-noon Tuesday, July 29 at Veterans United (1400 Forum Blvd., Columbia, MO) for a ribbon-cutting celebration. We’ll be joined by the Columbia Area Chamber of Commerce and Veterans United in celebrating our new Traveling Trunk. It’s CMFCAA’s brand-new mobile clothing-and-more store on wheels designed to bring free essentials directly to foster, adoptive, and kinship families across our 24-county region.
The Traveling Trunk was developed in direct response to a 2024 community needs assessment survey, which revealed that many families could not travel to one of CMFCAA’s three brick-and-mortar Trunk locations in Osage Beach, Jefferson City, or Rolla.
“At CMFCAA, we believe that access to essential resources shouldn’t depend on where a family lives,” said Jill Quaid, CEO of CMFCAA. “The Traveling Trunk allows us to meet families where they are—literally—and ensures that no child goes without simply because of distance or circumstance.”
From hygiene items and backpacks to gently used clothing, The Traveling Trunk ensures that support is never out of reach—no matter where families live. The unit made its debut in Jefferson City and now continues its journey to meet families where they are, removing transportation barriers and strengthening connections across Central Missouri.
