LANDING AFTER HOURS: JOHN C. & JESSE FREMONT: "THE PATHFINDER" & HIS WIFE

John C. Frémont led five expeditions between 1843 and 1852, making unprecedented discoveries and mapping an expanding nation. Every expedition was provisioned and began in Kansas City (Westport). Jesse Benton Frémont, John's wife, was the daughter of Sen. Thomas Hart Benton and co-authored Frémont's five presidential expedition reports. She also wrote three novels. Join Missouri State Museum interpretive aide Clinton Flowers as he tells the story of one of Missouri's most influential "power couples."

This program will be held in person at Jefferson Landing State Historic Site and also livestreamed on the Missouri State Museum’s Facebook page.
